LAURINBURG COMMUNITY GARDEN LICENSE AGREEMENT

 

1.       This agreement is between City of Laurinburg and ________________________________ (your name), for the 2008 season, April 1, 2008 – December 30, 2008.

  1. The purpose of this agreement is to provide garden plots for those in the Laurinburg Community. Each plot will be 10’ by 30’  (300 square feet) for 60 plants if allowing 2’ spacing.  The rental fee for a season will be $40.00.
  2. There will be a tool shed containing a limited number of tools that will be available to participants on specific days. Each lessee may want to have a few of their own tools and provide their own seed and transplants.                 (Donations are being solicited)
  3. Fertilizer and insecticide will also need to be provided by the lessee and approved by the Garden Manager.
  4. No herbicides will be allowed!  Must hoe and mulch for weed control.
  5. There will be a picnic table with canopy for shelter, fellowship and for temporary storage of excess produce.
  6. Each garden plot holder must contribute at least 10% of their produce to the Community Garden produce charity.
  7. No plot can be gardened until payment of fees and a signed agreement is received an approved. No exceptions.
  8. Water will be provided using a drip irrigation system on a timer basis for conservation controlled by the garden committee only.  We will provide approximately 1”/week per plant as needed, minimum.
  9. We will plow the lot with established rows and stake off your plot for you. 
  10. We will also provide mulch for weed control and for walkways as needed from a convenient location on-site.
  11. Each gardener agrees to use the plot and tools at his own risk and agrees to hold the City of Laurinburg and the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church harmless from any injury and damage.  Gardeners must be 16 years of age and have supervision to use the power tools.  Proper shoes and safety equipment are required.
  12. This license may be revoked by City of Laurinburg at any time.
